The other side of town
Sorry for the big break in between blog post . Since my return from Vegas, I have been working hard to trying to catch up on my work and add some new twist to my business. My time out in Vegas was very enjoyable which is usually not the case for me. As you may know I'm not a huge Vegas fan. I hate the noise, the crowds, the tackiness, and of course the losing money thing. But this year was a bit different. As usual meet up with some old photographer friends that unfortunately only see once a year and made some new ones. The weather wasn't half bad so I spent some time outside the casinos which was nice.
The big difference this trip had to be my time with one of my oldest friend Neal. Neal and have been friends since I think the 3rd grade and even thought his fathers work forced him to have to move to Singapore before high school Neal and I still remained friends. After the move Neal would spend whole summers at my and my other good friends Jim houses. We would just hanging out throwing a Frisbee around on our town green or making ridiculous homemade movie parities pre-youtube thank god.
Neal just moved out to Vegas less then a year to be with his girlfriend who is now in a regency at a local hospital.
After spending many years now on the west coast Neal has become my outdoor sports expert. This guy surfs, bikes and hikes and now climbs almost anything. Even thought we didn't get a chance to climb the weather made the rocks a bit to slippery, and for a beginner like myself it would have made the climb even harder. We did make the relaxing trip out to Red Rock Cayon and for a few hours I got to see the other side of Vegas that I have missed the last 5 times I have been to this city. Lets just say I much perfer this side of town :)

For Brides to be!!!!

The other day while scouting out a few shooting locations for an upcoming shoot I have at channel 8 was introduced to an amazing woman named Mary Ann. She is a breast cancer survivor and her foundation will be holding a not to be missed event for anyone getting married . I was lucky enough to be asked to be part of this event so I'm very excited for next Sunday.
Here all all the detail for the event
(via the CT Post)
The Get In Touch Foundation, a Milford, CT-based organization that supports breast cancer survivors through its Web site (www.getintouchfoundation.org), is sponsoring a bridal event this month. On Feb. 22 "GIT Your Gown On!" invites brides-to-be to the Bridge House Restaurant, 49 Bridgeport Ave., Milford, from 1 to 3 p.m. for a brand-new bridal gown as door prize for each of the 75 ticket holders. Tickets are $100. Wine and cheese will be served.
All gowns are new and valued up to $1,000, said the foundation's founder and breast cancer survivor Mary Ann Wasil Nilan. Several gowns are in sizes 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 18 and 22, with one each in sizes 20, 24 and 30. The gowns come in all shades of white -- snow white, off-white, champagne -- with long sleeves, cap sleeves, ribbon straps and strapless styles. There are satins and brocades, with long trains, small trains or no trains, suitable for summer or winter nuptials.
The bridal gowns were donated by Chris Saley, owner of the Bridge House. Saley inherited the dresses when a former tenant of his abandoned a bridal shop business, leaving behind more than 80 brand-new wedding gowns. His wife, Lisa, lost her battle with breast cancer in 2004 and his offering the dresses as a fundraiser was a way to help Nilan's work. The proceeds, she said, will benefit the Get In Touch Girls' educational program.
To purchase a ticket, contact maryann@getintouchfoundation.org or call 203.283.5127.

Fusion Slide show
So at my first wedding of this year I attempted to do a little photo fusion for the first time. I just grabbed some quick videos while I was shooting with my canon 5d mark 2. I still need some more practice and I wish was a bit steadier with the camera when I was shooting the video but for a first try I'm happy with the results.

Check out Rangefinder this month
Check it out guys I have an article in this months Rangefinder Magazine !!!! I'm not total sure how about feel about the title but what the heck I'll take it :)
Big thanks to Robin Dini for making this happen. See Robin totally hooked me up with a great note to send to Rangefinder.
A few months back like in Sep or something I was stomping around my office right after getting my latest Rangefinder asking out loud but mostly to myself " Why am I not in this magazine? " Robin simply said "why don't I write note to them for you?"
And look it worked!!!! I guess sometimes just asking for what you want is half the battle.

New website!
Yes I have heard the saying "if it ant broke don't fix it" but it was time for my website and brand to evolve. I just hated having a stale look to my site for so long. So gone is the black and my old logo. ekkk!! I was so hard to part with both of them!!! I'm still not even sure I made the right chose on the logo, can I go back? no wait stop...I need something different...right ????
Well check it and tell me what you think. It still needs some refinement but it's close to done just locked myself in my office for two days .
It's so much cleaner then it once was so I'm very happy with that. Oh and check it out, I now have a video link !!! thank you very much 5d !!!
I guess I have to update the blog once again to now match the new site
